A letter from the Founder

Stephen Rodin founder of Securlink on providing security solutions and their importance not just to him but to the families and businesses he protects.

"Originally, back in the early 1980s I wanted to be an electrician. I liked working with my hands and providing a service that was important to the safety of my clients, unfortunately at the time they actually closed the applications for electricians, not like today where there is a strong growth and need for tradespeople. I ended up finding the next best thing when I was given the chance to work for Alarm Track in the mid-80s.

I learned that wires are wires and that the skill of pulling them through ceilings and walls or ceiling mounted racks was the same. The difference was the application of the wire itself. I experienced the industry from the ground up as an apprentice, both cabling and programing alarm systems. I saw the advent of affordable central monitoring that was done privately instead of by the police stations and the rise of voice and camera (cctv) monitoring. I am greatly motivated as a parent as and a business owner to protect my clients and I started learning it from the ground up so I have a different perspective when I quote on a job. I treat your home and business like it is mine and what I want is a quality installation and service at an affordable rate.

A quick story...a couple years ago a client in the Cote Saint-Luc area called me to thank me. I had given them advice on how to secure their home when they had originally lived in Pointe Saint-Charles. They called me and said that their neighbour was robbed and complained jokingly that it was my client's fault for making it easier to rob the home that didn't have motion-detector lights, stickers advertising the house had an alarm system, windows that were all crank and a door with no window and steel frame. It reminded me of the joke that your don't have to outrun the bear, you need to outrun the guy next to you!"
